If you are like me, a professional networking geek, you often find that the one NIC on your laptop just don’t cut it? Sounds familiar? For a few months now I’ve been using the StarTech USB 3.0 NIC and it works just perfectly for me. I can use it directly on my laptop or even a few of them through an USB hub. Even mounting them directly (by USB) into a VMware Workstation VM works fine. Why would I USB them directly into a VM you say? Well, it could be to keep the host clean, but also to bypass any corporate policies on your company provided laptop which just don’t play nice with the needs for a networking geek.
